Bruno has recently designed the concert lighting for the current world tour of highly acclaimed Icelandic band Sigur Rós, having previously designed the 2010 solo tour for Jónsi, their vocalist and guitarist.
Working extensively in theatre his credits include productions for the RSC, Royal Court, and many regional and London theatres. For the National Theatre, Frankenstein (winner of 2012 Best Lighting Design Olivier Award and 2011 Knight of Illumination Award), Timon of Athens, London Road and Every Good Boy Deserves Favour. Other theatre credits include Cause Célèbre and All About My Mother (Old Vic); and Coram Boy (Bristol Old Vic).
His numerous operatic credits include: La Donna del Lago (Royal Opera House); Hansel und Gretel in his 16th consecutive season at Garsington Opera; Carmen (English National Opera); I due foscari (Los Angeles Opera, Palau de Les Arts, Valencia); Cunning Little Vixen (Royal Danish Opera); Rinaldo (Lyric Opera Chicago); Al gran sole carico d'amore (Staatsoper Berlin); Cavalleria rusticana and Pagliacci (Royal Danish Theatre/Den Norske Opera); Carousel (Opera North, Barbican, Théâtre du Chatelet Paris); Pelleas et Melissande (Buenos Aires); L’arbore di Diana (Barcelona/Madrid/Montpellier); I Puritani (Amsterdam, Geneva, Athens). His design for Rusalka at the Sydney Opera House won the Australian Green Room Award.
